SCCA Regionals is a sprint-racing series fielding multiple classes of machinery, ranging from open-wheel cars including Formula Mazda, Formula Ford, and Formula Vee to one-design sports racers, production-based touring and GT cars, and single-seat racers. The field is predominantly amateur and developing-level drivers, weaker than SCCA Majors and SCCA Runoffs but comparable to NASA. Peter Dempsey and Jake Walker lead the current roster. The series functions as both a stepping stone and a destination for drivers moving between peer regional series; many competitors arrive from NASA and SCCA Majors and later contest those same series in exchange, while others progress to SCCA Runoffs or move into one-make cups. Only a small fraction of the roster has graded sportscar experience.
