The World Racing League is an endurance racing series in which cars are shared between drivers over the course of each race. It runs four classes: the GTO category fields GT4 cars alongside purpose-built and stock-car machinery meeting power-to-weight criteria; GP1 and GP2 run production-based cars; GTU runs prototypes. The field is semi-professional, mixing amateur competitors with some experienced drivers; Robert Noaker, Nick Persing, Victor Franzoni and Mike Skeen anchor the strongest class. The series draws from feeder grids across club and regional racing and serves as a proving ground for drivers progressing toward more established endurance championships. GTO is markedly stronger than the other classes, with a field notably more competitive than the lower-series grids from which most drivers arrive.
