The World Racing League is an endurance racing series running production-based and GT4-class cars across its GTO, GP1, GP2, and GTU classes, with drivers sharing cockpits over multi-hour races. The GTO class is the strongest; Robert Noaker, Victor Franzoni, Nick Persing, and Mike Skeen lead the field. The series sits above a cluster of club and regional stepping stones like NASA and SCCA Regionals, and receives drivers regularly from those series as well as from American Endurance Racing and IMSA Pilot Challenge; it is notably weaker than Pilot Challenge, whose professional roster feeds downward into it, and moderately stronger than the amateur-heavy club circuits below it. Most drivers in the World Racing League have never raced in graded sportscar competition before entering it.
