Doug Prendeville was a competitive amateur who raced in the Star Mazda Championship in 2006. With a Racer Rating of 3,014, Prendeville sat at the entry end of semi-professional racing; he competed in fields alongside drivers considerably stronger than himself but lacked the consistency or results to establish himself in the series. His record consists of two starts for Andersen Racing Team, from which he did not score a podium finish, and he left the series after that single season.[1]
In his limited racing, Prendeville demonstrated occasional capability in one-off results. He finished ahead of Adrian Carrio, the 2006 Star Mazda champion, once; he also beat Christopher Cumming, a driver rated in the established professional band, on one occasion; and he outpaced Mark Patterson, a FIA Bronze-graded driver, and Ryan Justice once each. These results were isolated performances rather than patterns of consistent competitiveness and do not alter the fundamental picture of a driver who struggled to find a footing among stronger competitors. His average finishing position across all classified starts was thirteenth. Prendeville did not return to racing after 2006.
