Christopher Cumming is a professional-level endurance racing driver rated 4,479 and graded FIA Bronze, competing in multiclass championships where amateurs and professionals share the track. He races LMP2 prototypes for Pratt Miller Motorsports in IMSA WeatherTech, the national series where he has accumulated 35 starts since 2014, and has also driven for Extreme Speed Motorsports in the World Endurance Championship.[1]
Cumming spent his early career in Star Mazda Championship from 2006 to 2009, a single-driver formula where he started 28 times for World Speed Motorsports. His most substantial international campaign came in 2016 WEC, where he took four podiums from nine rounds and finished fourth in the championship standings. Across all his racing he has started 76 times and collected five podiums, all but one from endurance competition.[2]
His regular opponents include Joel Miller, an entry-level professional and 2024 Lamborghini Super Trofeo champion, and Dane Cameron, an established professional and multiple IMSA and WEC champion; Cumming typically finishes behind both. He has on separate occasions beaten António Félix da Costa, the 2019 Formula E champion and 2022 WEC LMP2 champion, and Christian Fittipaldi, the 1991 International Formula 3000 champion and 2014 IMSA WeatherTech champion, though these remain isolated results against drivers who sit considerably above him in the professional ranks.
