Jackson Robillard is a competitive amateur, rated 2,435; that level describes club and regional racing, the entry point of organised motorsport where drivers are learning the sport against peers rather than competing among established professionals. Robillard raced for two seasons in the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin, a one-make series that attracted stronger drivers than his own rating. Across 24 starts from 2019 to 2020, he never won a race or finished on the podium, averaging 17th place.[1]

The fields he raced in were substantially stronger than his own level. His most frequent rivals included multiple drivers rated at the professional threshold or above: Robert Noaker, a two-time champion graded FIA Silver at 5,474; Michael Carter, a one-time champion at 3,939; and Selin Rollan at 4,028. Robillard finished behind Carter in all 24 shared races and behind Noaker in 22 of 23. He did occasionally trouble stronger drivers; he beat Noaker once and Justin Piscitell, an FIA Silver graded driver, once, along with three separate finishes ahead of David Staab. These isolated results carry little weight against the consistent pattern of finishing well down the field.

Robillard's time in the sport was brief. He ran 12 rounds in his final season of 2020 and finished 19th in the championship, after which he retired from racing. His career shows a driver racing among semi-professionals and established competitors without finding a competitive foothold against them.
