🇹🇷 Jason Tahinci

Jason Tahinci is a retired professional driver who raced single-seater formula cars in the mid-2000s. He competed in the GP2 Series from 2006 to 2007 for Petrol Ofisi FMS International, alongside a two-race stint in Formula V8 3.5 the same year. Both series fielded mixed fields of amateur and semi-professional drivers alongside graded professionals.[1]

Tahinci made 29 starts across his indexed career. His main campaign came in GP2, where he contested 27 rounds for Petrol Ofisi FMS International over two seasons and finished 30th in the 2007 championship standings. He faced established opposition throughout; Giorgio Pantano, a field regular who would go on to win the 2008 GP2 title, was among his most frequent competitors. Tahinci typically finished behind Pantano and behind Javier Villa, a FIA Silver graded driver with significant GP2 and WTCC experience.[2]

His record included isolated finishes ahead of drivers who went on to establish themselves at much higher levels. He beat Sébastien Buemi twice, a driver who would become a five-time WEC champion and Formula E title holder, and Mike Conway once; Conway later won the 2021 WEC Hypercar title. These results were exceptions in a career spent among professionals who were securing themselves as series regulars rather than rising further.
