Joseph Smith is an entry-level professional racing single-seater cars in British Formula 4 for Virtuosi Racing. His indexed racing record spans four seasons from 2022 onwards, comprising 18 starts across British F4 and American Endurance Racing. He currently competes in the 2026 British F4 season, which remains in progress with three rounds completed so far.[1]
Smith took a win and a podium in four endurance starts during 2022 in American Endurance Racing Class 2, racing production-based cars in a multiclass field that mixed amateurs with graded professionals. He moved into single-seater racing in 2025, joining British F4 with Virtuosi Racing. Across his first full season in the series and into 2026, he has taken two wins and two podiums from 14 starts. His 2026 campaign has yielded one win at Silverstone and one podium finish in the three rounds run to date.[2]
Smith usually finishes behind the series regulars he meets most often; professional drivers Ethan Jeff-Hall and FIA Silver graded Adam Al Azhari, both of whom carry significantly more British F4 experience, generally outpace him. He has beaten both on occasion, including a finish ahead of Jeff-Hall, who has 31 British F4 starts. His win at Silverstone in June 2026 represents his strongest result in the series to date.
