Joseph Smith is an entry-level professional racing single-seater and endurance machinery. He races primarily in British F4 for Virtuosi Racing, where he is in his second season of the championship; he also contested American Endurance Racing's Class 2 multiclass field in 2022, where he shared a production-based car across four rounds.[1]

Smith has taken two wins across 25 starts. His first came in American Endurance Racing's shared-car format in 2022. His breakthrough in single-seater racing came in 2026, when he won a British F4 race at Silverstone in what is still his most recent season; he sits eleventh in the championship standings after ten rounds run so far, with two podium finishes from those rounds. Across his 21 British F4 starts to date he has finished on the podium twice.[2]

In British F4, Smith races regularly against Ethan Jeff-Hall and Theo Palmer, both entry-level professionals with extensive single-seater experience; he typically finishes behind both, though he has beaten Jeff-Hall five times. He has also finished ahead of Jimmy Piszcyk, a professional with 58 British F4 starts, once. Virtuosi Racing, his current team, has fielded 26 drivers across the index with a strongest driver in established professional company.
