Bobby Grim competed in Formula 1 during 1959 and 1960, entering two races for the Meskowski team. His Grand Prix career produced no points finishes, though he did start against the highest calibre of single-seater racing available at the time. Across his two starts, he averaged a finishing position of 16th.[1]
In his limited Formula 1 outings, Grim occasionally finished ahead of drivers of considerably higher standing. He outfinished Tony Bettenhausen, Jimmy Bryan, Don Freeland, and Johnny Boyd in individual races; all four were front-running professionals with Racer Ratings well above 4,800, substantially stronger competitors than the typical Formula 1 grid of the period. One of his starts came in a Kurtis Kraft chassis, a constructor that accumulated five race wins across its career and fielded some of the era's leading drivers, including Jim Rathmann.
Grim retired from racing after the 1960 season and did not compete again after that year.
