Julian Koch was a club-level endurance racer competing in national German multiclass championships with near-standard production cars. He drove for rent2drive-FAMILIA-racing across the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie in 2019 and started the Nürburgring 24 Hours in 2020, racing turbocharged and naturally-aspirated V-class machinery alongside semi-professional and professional drivers in shared-car endurance events.[1]
Koch took three podiums across six starts in his two seasons on record. He was closely matched against fellow club and semi-professional regulars Kurt Strube and Martin Owen in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, and on two occasions finished ahead of higher-rated drivers: a professional and a Bronze-graded professional who had raced more extensively in longer-distance series.[2]
His podium finishes came in fields mixing graded professionals with amateur entrants on the same grid. His racing was contained to the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie and the 24-hour event at the same venue, where he competed among the regular rotation of drivers rent2drive-FAMILIA-racing fielded across multiple seasons.
