Mark Green is an entry-level professional who raced stock cars across three decades, primarily in NASCAR Xfinity. He spent nearly two decades in Xfinity from 1995 onward, the vast majority of his 318 starts there contested on ovals, and drove for Jay Robinson Racing for the bulk of his time in the series. His final indexed appearance came in 2021, a single start in the ARCA Menards Series for Young's Motorsports.[1]
Green ran 319 starts across his career without a championship. His record in Xfinity showed him as a regular competitor against established professionals; he finished behind Jason Keller and Kenny Wallace more often than ahead of them, both drivers who accumulated over 500 starts in the series. His most recent full season was 2011, when he ran ten rounds and finished 36th in the championship standings. The gap between that campaign and his 2021 ARCA start spans a decade of absence from indexed racing.[2]
His record against the strongest drivers in Xfinity was sparse. He finished ahead of Denny Hamlin, an elite professional and multiple-time Cup Series competitor, eight times across their meetings, and beat Joey Logano twice; Logano has since won three NASCAR Cup Series championships. These results come from a driver racing regularly against a field that included graded professionals and semi-professionals in the same races, placing Green mid-field in that company.
