Max de Terra was a Swiss driver who raced in Formula 1 during the early 1950s. He started in two World Championship Grands Prix for Ferrari in 1952 and 1953, neither of which yielded championship points or podium finishes. His debut came on 18 May 1952. His competitive record places him in a semi-professional field; he finished ahead of Albert Scherrer, a driver rated in the national-level range, in at least one outing.[1]
De Terra's Formula 1 career was brief and unsuccessful. Across his two starts, he averaged an eighth-place finish, but this record reflects the small sample size and the quality of the fields he encountered in that era. Ferrari, the team for which he raced, was already an established constructor with significant resources, yet de Terra did not secure a lasting role. His racing ended in 1953, closing a career that never advanced beyond occasional Grand Prix entries.[2]
