Ricardo Teixeira is an Angolan-Portuguese racing driver who competed in single-seat motorsport during the early 2010s. He made 35 starts in the GP2 Series between 2009 and 2013, driving for Trident Racing throughout his tenure in the championship. Teixeira gained distinction as the first Angolan driver to pilot a Formula 1 car when announced as a test driver for Team Lotus in 2011, representing a significant milestone for motorsport participation from Angola. His career received backing from Sonangol, the Angolan national oil company, which sponsored his racing activities.[1]
Teixeira's GP2 Series campaign spanned five seasons without securing victories or podium finishes across his 35 race starts. His most recent competitive activity came in 2013, when he contested four rounds of the GP2 Series championship, finishing thirty-third in the final standings.
