Michael Merritt is a competitive amateur racer competing across multiple national United States multiclass championships. He races Porsche machinery in Porsche Carrera Cup NA, where he competes in the Am class 911 GT3 Cup cars for McCann Racing, and in International GT, where he drives GT4.0 and GT4.R specification Porsche 911 GT3 machinery. He has also raced in NASA's Super Unlimited class and made an appearance in SVRA competition.[1]
Merritt's record across four seasons from 2020 to 2026 spans 21 starts with two wins and four podiums. His first indexed win came in NASA competition in 2020, followed by a podium finish in the same series. In Porsche Carrera Cup NA in 2023, he took one podium from ten starts driving for McCann Racing against a field mixing amateurs and entry-level professionals. His most productive season came in 2025 and 2026 in International GT, where he has claimed one win and two podiums from six starts across that multiclass championship's GT4 classes. His current standing in SVRA places him 67th in the championship after one round.[2]
