Dave Gage is a developing driver with a Racer Rating of 987, placing him at the entry level of competitive motor racing. This rating describes a driver consistently racing in club and regional fields, or one with too few races on record to have moved beyond the developing stage; in Gage's case, the sparse record applies. Across two seasons from 2024 to 2025, Gage has made three starts in American Endurance Racing, accumulating no wins or podium finishes.[1]

The limited sample offers little to define Gage's competitive pattern. His average finishing position of P6.7 across classified starts masks the small number of races involved. In head-to-head comparison with his most frequent rival, Robert Goldlust, a club-level driver rated 439, Gage holds a 2–1 advantage over three shared races. More intriguingly, Gage has finished ahead of several considerably stronger drivers in isolated instances: Peter Klutt, a semi-professional rated 2,024; James Counterman, a multiple American Endurance Racing class champion; Cody Ace, also a former American Endurance Racing class champion; and Karsten Richards, the 2022 American Endurance Racing Class 1 champion. These results, however, are single occurrences and cannot establish a pattern or claim of sustained competitiveness at a higher level. With only three races on record, Gage remains in the very early stages of his racing career.
