Nico Otto was an entry-level professional competing in national German endurance racing, primarily in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie between 2018 and 2024. He raced for Max Kruse Racing in multiclass events where amateur and professional drivers shared cars across BMW one-make cup cars, Porsche GT4 machinery and higher-spec Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars. His final appearance came in 2024 in the Michelin 992 Endurance Cup.[1]
Otto took nine wins and 33 podiums across 50 starts in the Langstrecken-Serie, where he won the Cup 5 championship in 2021. He also started the Nürburgring 24 Hours twice in 2019 and 2021, racing in the Cayman GT4 and BMW classes. Over seven indexed seasons his record showed him consistently on the podium; two-thirds of his starts in the main series produced a podium finish.[2]
Otto's competitors were established names in that championship. He raced regularly against Yannick Fübrich and David Griessner, both entry-level or semi-professional drivers and multiple series champions in the Nürburgring calendar, and finished behind them more often than ahead. Against stronger machinery or more experienced drivers from outside his normal circuit, he beat established professional Joel Eriksson once and established professional Thomas Neubauer once in the field.
