Rafal Janus was an entry-level professional in the 2005 FIA GT Championship, a single-class endurance series where each car carries two or more drivers who share the driving across each race. He raced for Ram Racing Poland, a small Polish operation that fielded four drivers that season and took no wins across the championship.[1]
Janus made five starts in the 2005 FIA GT Championship and finished 32nd in the season standings. The field that year mixed amateurs and semi-professionals with established graded professionals, creating races where the performance spread was significant. He typically finished behind established professionals including Michael Bartels, who would win the FIA GT Championship three times, and Marc Lieb, a multiple-time WEC and endurance series regular. Janus did finish ahead of Bert Longin, an FIA Bronze-graded professional with 80 FIA GT starts to his name, and Jaime Melo, an FIA Platinum-graded driver with International Formula 3000 and WEC experience; both men had substantially longer records in the series than Janus did.[2]
