Richard Schley raced in national multiclass championships in the United States as a developing-level driver. He competed in NASA's Super Unlimited class and PCA Club Racing's SP1 class, driving Porsches in the latter series.[1]
His racing career on record spans from 2008 to 2017, with nine starts across two series. He made three starts in NASA in 2008, then returned to competition in PCA Club Racing from 2016 to 2017, taking six starts there and finishing 22nd in the championship standings in his final season.[2]
Schley typically finished behind Philip Hanson, an established professional and FIA Gold driver who runs WEC and European Le Mans competition alongside club racing. He regularly finished ahead of Stacie Virden, another developing-level competitor in PCA Club Racing who has considerably more experience in that series. Among his wins were races against Doug Harrington, an entry-level professional, and Bob Stretch, a competitive amateur with significant NASA and SCCA Majors starts.
