🇧🇷 David Nelson

David Nelson is a club-level racer competing in PCA Club Racing, a national multiclass championship in which amateurs, semi-professionals and graded professionals share the track in a single race. He drives Porsches in the GTB1 and SP1 classes. Nelson has raced in the series for 13 seasons since 2014, making 83 starts across that span.[1]

Over that career he has taken four wins and 29 podiums. His record has been consistent rather than dominant; he typically finishes mid-field against the regular opponents he meets most often, including Steve Coomes, whose results he usually trails, and Terry Morris, whom he runs closely with. He has beaten drivers of a considerably higher standing on a handful of occasions. Philip Hanson, an established professional and FIA Gold graded driver with extensive experience in WEC and the European Le Mans Series, finished behind Nelson once across their meetings. Maurice Smith, a professional who won the Le Mans Cup LMP3 championship in 2021 and the European Le Mans Series LMP3 title the following year, encountered Nelson three times and finished behind him in each race.[2]

Nelson is currently competing in the 2026 PCA Club Racing season and holds 18th in the championship standings after three rounds, with three podiums so far.
