🇦🇹 Ryan Sharp

Ryan Sharp is a Scottish established professional who raced solo and in shared-car endurance competitions in single-class championships from 2005 to 2009. He drove for JetAlliance Racing in the FIA GT Championship, partnering with ex-Formula 1 driver Karl Wendlinger as his teammate in their lead Aston Martin DBR9. Sharp holds an FIA Silver grading, ranking him below the Platinum and Gold full-professional grades within GT and endurance racing.[1]

Sharp's career centred on the FIA GT Championship, where he took 7 wins and 9 podiums across 23 starts for JetAlliance Racing from 2007 to 2009. He also raced in the World Touring Car Championship in 2006, taking a podium finish from 14 starts and finishing 18th in the championship standings. Earlier, he started his indexed career in single-seater racing with seven starts each in GP2 and Formula V8 3.5 in 2005. Before his championship-level racing, he won the 2003 German Formula Renault title.[2]

Sharp's FIA GT company included Gianmaria Bruni, who would go on to become a two-time WEC LMGTE Pro champion and a Platinum-graded professional with 71 WEC starts to his name; Sharp finished closely matched with him across their meetings. He also raced frequently against Christian Montanari, an established professional competitor in Formula V8 3.5 and the FIA GT Championship. On single occasions, Sharp finished ahead of Nigel Mansell, the 1992 Formula 1 World Champion, and Pastor Maldonado, the 2010 GP2 champion who went on to race in Formula 1.
