🇺🇸 Tom Long

Tom Long is a semi-professional racing driver competing primarily in national American motorsport. FIA Gold-graded for endurance and sportscar racing, he races a Chevrolet Camaro in NASA's national amateur and professional road-racing series, where he has logged 43 starts and taken five wins and twenty podiums since 2020. He has also raced in IMSA's national multiclass championships, including the WeatherTech series with Racers Edge Motorsports and the Pilot Challenge with Goldcrest Motorsports, and competes in International GT racing.[1]

Long won the 2018 IMSA Pilot Challenge TCR championship with Compass Racing, driving their touring car in the team's eight-round title pursuit. He has taken thirteen wins and forty-eight podiums across 132 starts in his racing career, which spans from 2002 to the present. His most consistent results have come in NASA, where he has finished ahead of club-level regulars such as Marshall Moore; he has also raced against established professionals including Jordan Taylor, a multiple-time IMSA WeatherTech champion and FIA Platinum driver, typically finishing behind him. Long has beaten stronger opposition on occasion, including elite professional Chase Briscoe in one race and established professional Sébastien Buemi, a five-time WEC champion and former Formula E champion, in another meeting.[2]

The fields Long races in mix amateur and semi-professional drivers with graded professionals. In IMSA's multiclass endurance series, particularly WeatherTech, he shares the track with Platinum and Gold-graded drivers; he has taken one podium across 34 WeatherTech starts but runs more competitively in Pilot Challenge, where he has won three races and podiumed eight times across 24 starts in the GT4-based and touring-car classes. His record in International GT over fourteen starts shows four wins and ten podiums, while a limited run in Lamborghini Super Trofeo in 2022 yielded one win and eight podiums from ten starts. Long currently competes in World Racing League endurance racing for TCB Racing and has recently raced historic sportscars and production-car spec series for Mazda.
