Walter Nawotka was a club-level driver who raced in shared-car endurance racing. He competed in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, a multiclass national championship where amateurs and professionals raced together, primarily in modified and turbocharged production-based cars across four seasons from 2010 to 2013.[1]
Over 26 starts in the series, Nawotka finished 11th in the championship standings in his final season. He was closely matched against regular opponents Maximilian Hackländer, an entry-level professional with FIA Silver grading who also raced in Prototype Cup Germany and ADAC GT Masters, and Matthias Wasel, a competitive amateur who returned regularly to the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie. Nawotka's strongest scalp came against established professionals; he finished ahead of Bernd Schneider, the 1997 FIA GT Championship winner, and Christian Krognes, who won the 2012 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie SP 3T class title.[2]
