Anthony Janiec was a French entry-level professional racing driver whose sole indexed season came in 2006. He competed in the Formula 3 Euro Series, a single-class championship drawing amateurs, semi-professionals and graded professionals into the same field. He drove for Janiec Racing Team across 11 starts and finished 24th in the championship standings.[1]
His record placed him among the mid-field finishers in a field that included drivers of considerably higher standing. He finished behind Sebastian Vettel, then a developing professional who would go on to four Formula 1 world championships, in most of their meetings; he also raced regularly against Tim Sandtler, an FIA Silver-graded driver who later won the 2024 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie SP 10. On one occasion each, Janiec finished ahead of both Vettel and Sébastien Buemi, an established professional who would become a multiple Formula E and WEC champion.[2]
