Christian Szymczak is a professional endurance driver who raced in IMSA's national multiclass championships, chiefly for Murillo Racing. He competed in the Pilot Challenge series between 2016 and 2023, driving GT4-level and lightly modified production cars in the GS and ST classes alongside both amateur and professional co-drivers. His FIA grading is Bronze, which places him among gentleman and amateur drivers in endurance racing.[1]
Szymczak took one win across his career, that coming at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in the 2023 Pilot Challenge season, and finished on the podium five times in 37 total starts. His most recent outing was a single appearance in the 2014 WeatherTech Championship. The bulk of his record came in the Pilot Challenge over nine seasons with Murillo Racing, a competitive operation that fielded established professionals and has won races across the series.[2]
He ran regularly against Spencer Pumpelly, a Silver-graded professional and 2016 Pilot Challenge ST champion, and Owen Trinkler, a 2018 Pilot Challenge GS champion, finishing on level terms with both across their meetings. Szymczak also beat Chase Briscoe, a multi-series professional with extensive NASCAR experience, and Nolan Siegel, a Gold-graded driver with IndyCar and Indy NXT credentials, in single encounters each.
