🇲🇽 Diego Menchaca

Diego Menchaca is a professional driver competing in multiclass endurance racing. He raced in single-seaters early in his career, including GB3 and the Formula V8 3.5 series, before moving to GT and prototype racing in 2019. His most recent activity was in GT World Challenge Europe, where he competed for Team WRT.[1]

Menchaca's career spans eight seasons from 2013 to 2023 across six series. In GB3, his most developed single-seater campaign, he took one win and seven podiums across 43 starts for Douglas Motorsport. A podium finish followed in Formula V8 3.5 with Fortec Motorsports in 2017. He then moved into endurance racing, racing LMP2 prototypes for Algarve Pro Racing in the European Le Mans Series in 2021, and GT3 cars for Team WRT in both the European Le Mans Series and GT World Challenge Europe from 2019 onwards. His sole win came in the 24H Series in 2023, a multiclass endurance championship, where he drove a GT3 car for Team WRT. His rating of 4,047 places him at professional level; he holds an FIA Silver grading in endurance racing, which sits below the full-professional Gold and Platinum grades.[2]

In GB3, Menchaca raced regularly against Rahul Raj Mayer, an entry-level professional, and typically finished ahead of him. Against the stronger field he encountered, he finished ahead of George Russell, the 2014 GB3 champion and later a Formula 2 and Formula 1 driver, on four occasions, and beat Alex Palou, the IndyCar champion, once across their shared races in that series.
