🇬🇧 Jake Hughes

Jake Hughes is an established professional, FIA Gold graded, racing in a multiclass endurance series. He competes in the European Le Mans Series for Algarve Pro Racing, driving an LMP2 prototype as part of a shared-driver crew; he has also begun racing in the World Endurance Championship with the same team. His career spans 14 seasons across single-seater and endurance racing, accumulating 212 starts since 2013.[1]

Hughes began in national single-seater racing, winning the GB3 championship with Lanan Racing in 2013 before progressing through Formula Renault and GP3 Series, where he took three wins and seven podiums across 31 starts with ART Grand Prix. He moved to FIA Formula 3 European and Formula 3, combining podium finishes in both; his Formula 3 campaign with Carlin Buzz Racing yielded three wins and eight podiums from 37 starts between 2019 and 2021. Formula 2 followed in 2020 and 2022, where he contested 26 races for Van Amersfoort Racing without a podium finish. More recently, he has campaigned Formula E with Maserati MSG Racing from 2023 onward, collecting two podiums across 37 starts. His transition to endurance racing began in 2026; he has taken one win and two podiums from five ELMS starts so far, and has entered the WEC this season.[2]

Throughout his single-seater career, Hughes regularly raced against established professionals including David Beckmann and Jehan Daruvala, both FIA Gold drivers with extensive experience across multiple championships; he finished closely matched with each. Against drivers who went on to generational status, he finished ahead of Lando Norris on ten occasions during their time in the junior categories, and beat George Russell twice. His presence in endurance racing pairs him with Algarve Pro Racing, a team that has shown competitive pace in the discipline's top class; the team's early-season pace in 2026 positioned Hughes among its front-runners.
