Marco Campos was a Brazilian racing driver who competed in International Formula 3000 as an established professional. He raced for International Draco Racing during the 1995 season.[1]
Campos made eight starts in Formula 3000 across 1995, finishing 14th in the championship standings. He was closely matched with Allan McNish, another established professional, while usually finishing behind Vincenzo Sospiri, who won the 1995 championship. He took victories over established professionals Christophe Tinseau and Didier Cottaz on multiple occasions. Campos raced in a field mixing amateurs, semi-professionals and graded professionals at the top level of single-seater motorsport.[2]
Campos competed in a grid where the front runners included the 1995 series champion and drivers with extensive International Formula 3000 experience and careers extending into Formula 1 and IndyCar. He was mid-field in that company, regularly racing the strongest drivers of the day. Campos died as a result of injuries sustained in a Formula 3000 accident at Magny-Cours in October 1995.
