Cístola raced single-seater saloons in two Argentine national championships from 2017 to 2020, competing for Ford across 38 starts. A competitive amateur, he posted one win and five podiums across TC Mouras and TC Pista; his final season came in 2020 when he finished sixteenth in the TC Pista championship.[1]
His sole victory came in TC Mouras, where he took a podium finish alongside his win across two seasons. He moved to TC Pista for 2019 and 2020, adding three podiums over 22 starts in the larger championship. His most recent campaign in 2020 saw him compete across the full TC Pista season without a podium.[2]
Cístola raced regularly against Mario Valle, a fellow competitive amateur, with whom he was closely matched across multiple meetings. He also contested with Santiago Álvarez, a semi-professional driver with experience in higher-tier racing including Turismo Carretera, and proved competitive in his meetings with Álvarez. Among the strongest drivers he faced was Hernán Palazzo, later a TC Pista champion at entry-level professional level; Cístola finished ahead of him on eight occasions.
