Uwe Nittel is a competitive amateur racing in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, a national multiclass endurance championship run at the Nürburgring. He holds FIA Bronze grading, the amateur classification for endurance racing. Across seven seasons from 2010 to 2017, he made 11 starts in the series, driving Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport and GT4 machinery across its Cup 3, SP 10 and SP 7 classes, latterly for Car #405.[1]
Nittel took two wins and three podiums in his career. He was most active early in his indexed racing; his final season was 2017, when he finished 28th in the championship standings from a single round. Against the regular competitors he faced, Nittel typically finished behind Markus Schmickler, a two-time V4 champion and entry-level professional also racing the series, but usually finished ahead of semi-professional Daniel Bohr. He finished ahead of Dirk Werner, a Platinum-graded professional with IMSA WeatherTech experience, once across their meetings in the series.[2]
