Gustav Birch is an entry-level professional competing in multiclass endurance racing, with an FIA Silver grade. Racing for GMB Motorsport across 2022 and 2023, he drove GT3 cars in the Le Mans Cup and Road to Le Mans, a GTE car in the European Le Mans Series, and made single appearances in the 24H Series and World Endurance Championship. His record spans 13 starts across five series.[1]
Birch took two wins and three podiums in the Le Mans Cup during 2022, his strongest showing in any series. His 2023 campaign included four starts in the European Le Mans Series and one each in WEC, where he finished 24th in the championship standings, and the 24H Series. The bulk of his racing, twelve of his thirteen starts, came with GMB Motorsport, a team that has fielded established professionals including Nicki Thiim alongside its developing drivers.[2]
In multiclass fields mixing amateurs with graded professionals, Birch ran closely with Valentin Hasse Clot, a Gold-graded professional and 2023 Le Mans Cup GT3 champion with extensive experience in the European Le Mans Series and IMSA WeatherTech.
