Jeff Krogh was an entry-level professional competing in NASCAR Xfinity, a single-class national stock car championship that mixed amateur, semi-professional and established professional drivers on the same grid. He raced for Excel Motorsports between 1997 and 1999.[1]
Krogh made 57 starts across three seasons, nearly all of them on oval circuits. He finished 38th in the final championship standings of his 1999 season, his last year of competition. His regular competitors in the series included professionals Elton Sawyer and Mike McLaughlin, drivers with far more extensive NASCAR Xfinity records; Krogh typically finished behind both. On occasion he finished ahead of stronger opposition; he beat Tony Stewart, an IndyCar champion and established professional, in ten meetings, and finished ahead of Dale Earnhardt Jr., the 1998 and 1999 NASCAR Xfinity champion, nine times across their encounters in the series.[2]
Krogh sustained a serious crash during the 1999 NASCAR Xfinity season and did not return to racing.
