Jesús Iglesias was an Argentine racing driver whose career spanned a single season in 1955. He competed in Formula 1 with Gordini, the French manufacturer, making one start in the Argentine Grand Prix at his home race. Iglesias qualified 17th of 22 competitors but failed to finish, retiring from the race on lap 38 due to transmission failure. His prior experience came in long-distance racing in Argentina, where he had competed in a Chevrolet Special before receiving the invitation to drive for Gordini in Formula 1.[1]

Iglesias' rating of 3,406 places him in the semi-professional band, the level of drivers who win in pro-am and one-make classes and run mid-pack among full professionals. His single Formula 1 start provides insufficient evidence of his true competitive standing; he did not complete the race, and the field at the 1955 Argentine Grand Prix was a national-level entry. Gordini itself was uncompetitive in the championship that year, fielding a roster of 23 drivers across the season with no victories. The circumstances of Iglesias' retirement, combined with his limited racing record, leave little basis for comparison against stronger professionals.
