Jorge Cevallos is a semi-professional driver whose Racer Rating of 3,416 places him among competitive amateurs and the lower tier of paid drivers; he competes in club racing and entry-level pro-am fields, and typically finishes mid-pack among full professionals. His career on record consists of a single season in the Pro Mazda Championship in 2016, where he started six races for Cape Motorsports and Wayne Taylor Racing without recording a podium finish, averaging eighth place overall.[1]

Cevallos competed against a field that included several drivers who went on to stronger careers. Pato O'Ward, who would become a multiple champion in top-level North American series, raced in the same championship and finished ahead of Cevallos in five of six shared races; however, Cevallos beat O'Ward once. Aaron Telitz, the series champion that year, finished ahead of Cevallos in all six of their meetings. Will Owen and Nicolas Jamin, both graded professionals, similarly dominated their head-to-head records against him. Cevallos showed competitive parity only with lower-rated drivers, beating Nicolás Dapero and Jacob Parsons three times each across their shared races.[2]

Part of the Escuderia Telmex program that has developed Mexican talent in international motorsport, Cevallos was based between Tijuana and San Diego. His racing career concluded after 2016 and he has not returned to competition since.
