🇲🇾 Weiron Tan

Weiron Tan is a professional driver, FIA Silver graded, competing in international multiclass endurance racing. He drives for Arrows Racing in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia Pro-Am class, a regional championship that mixes amateurs with graded professionals across four classes and five countries. His career spans six seasons from 2015 to the present, with 36 starts across single-seater and endurance machinery.[1]

Tan began in the Pro Mazda Championship, where he won four races and took seven podiums across 20 starts for Team Pelfrey in 2015 and 2016; Pelfrey won the championship that season. He moved to FIA Formula 3 European in 2016 for six starts with Carlin before stepping into the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2018 with Jackie Chan DC Racing. In his five WEC rounds he won once, claimed two podiums, and finished third in the championship standings. Jackie Chan DC Racing won the LMP2 title that year. Since then his indexed activity has been sparse; a single start in IMSA Pilot Challenge in 2021 preceded his return to regular racing with Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia in 2024 and 2025, where he has one podium from four starts so far.[2]

In single-seater racing he regularly competed against drivers bound for higher formulae. He raced repeatedly against Pato O'Ward, an elite professional and two-time champion who went on to compete in IndyCar, finishing ahead of him in head-to-head meetings. In the WEC he encountered Jean-Eric Vergne, a Platinum-graded driver and two-time Formula E champion; Tan finished ahead of Vergne twice in their meetings. He also raced closely and evenly against Will Owen, a Silver-graded professional with extensive experience across Pro Mazda, WeatherTech and the WEC. In his endurance campaigns, most notably the 2018 WEC season, he drove alongside Malaysian countrymen Jazeman Jaafar and Nabil Jeffri, the three becoming the first Malaysian drivers to win an FIA-sanctioned international race.
