Miki Weckström is a semi-professional driver who raced solo single-seaters in the Formula Renault Eurocup between 2010 and 2012, competing for KTR and latterly Tech 1 Racing. He holds an FIA Silver grading. His record across three seasons stands at 25 starts and one podium finish, with a best championship position of 17th in 2012.[1]
Weckström's sole podium came during his campaign in the Eurocup, a field that mixed amateur and semi-professional drivers with established professionals. He was closely matched with Alex Riberas, an FIA Gold graded driver who went on to race in the IMSA WeatherTech and World Endurance Championship, but typically finished behind Paul-Loup Chatin, a professional who later competed extensively in WEC and the European Le Mans Series. Weckström finished ahead of Pierre Gasly, who became the 2013 Formula Renault Eurocup champion and went on to Formula 1, on two occasions, and ahead of Oliver Rowland, who won the 2015 Formula V8 3.5 championship, once.[2]
