Marc Walz was a professional single-seater driver who raced in the 2004 Formula Renault Eurocup, a single-class championship that fielded amateurs, semi-professionals and graded professionals in the same races. He drove for Motopark Academy.[1]
Walz completed one season in the indexed record with eight starts and finished eleventh in the championship standings. He took one podium finish across the campaign.[2]
His results placed him mid-field in a field that included established professionals such as Davide Valsecchi and Pastor Maldonado, both of whom would go on to race Formula 1 and win the GP2 Series in later years. Walz finished ahead of Valsecchi five times and ahead of Maldonado twice. He regularly outpaced Mikhail Aleshin, a Platinum-graded driver who later competed in IndyCar, but typically finished behind Pascal Kochem.
