🇬🇧 Mike Bushell

Mike Bushell is an entry-level professional who raced in the British Touring Car Championship, a national single-class championship mixing amateurs and professionals on the same grid. He competed for RCIB Insurance with Fox Transport across 76 starts from 2015 to 2020, his most recent full season placing him 20th in the championship standings.[1]

Bushell's racing on record spans four seasons in the BTCC. He returned to the series in 2015 following a win in the Renault Clio Cup United Kingdom the previous year. His 76 starts came predominantly with Trade Price Cars and Brisky Racing, which fielded him for 30 of those entries. The team operated without race wins across the index, though it also ran the professional Jake Hill during the period.[2]

Bushell raced regularly against established professionals. Tom Ingram, a four-time BTCC champion and FIA Gold graded driver with over 350 BTCC starts, was a frequent rival whom Bushell usually finished behind. Josh Cook, a professional with 348 BTCC starts, was similarly competitive against him. Bushell nevertheless finished ahead of Ash Sutton, the 2017, 2020, 2021 and 2023 BTCC champion, on ten occasions across their meetings.
