Matt Neal is a professional driver competing in solo sprint racing in the British Touring Car Championship and multiclass endurance racing in the 24H Series. He raced for Halfords Yuasa Racing in the BTCC across the 2015 to 2020 seasons and competed in the 24H Series in a pair of production-based and TCR touring cars between 2018 and 2022. He holds FIA Silver grading, a classification for drivers developing within sportscar and endurance racing rather than fully established professionals.[1]

Over seven seasons on record, Neal took 11 wins and 39 podiums from 181 starts. In the BTCC he contested 177 rounds across six seasons, scoring 10 wins and 36 podiums; his most recent campaign in 2020 yielded three podiums and a 10th-place finish in the championship standings. His endurance record spans four starts in the 24H Series, where he finished on the podium in three of them and won once. His competitive record includes a head-to-head split with Tom Ingram, a Gold-graded driver and two-time BTCC champion, which shows them closely matched over their shared BTCC campaigns, and regular racing against fellow Silver-graded professional Adam Morgan.[2]

In a BTCC field mixing amateurs and professionals, Neal finished consistently within reach of established names; he beat Ash Sutton, a four-time champion, in 58 of their meetings and twice finished ahead of Alain Menu, an established professional with World Touring Car Championship experience. His record reflects the competitive standard of a professional driver holding his own in a national single-seater championship at a level where titles went to graded professionals racing alongside him.
