Scott Jenkins competed in the Star Mazda Championship between 2004 and 2006, recording 19 starts, 6 podiums, and no wins. His Racer Rating of 4,016 places him at the professional level; this describes a driver capable of winning races in national championship competition and consistently beating semi-professional fields. Jenkins' average finish across his career was 10.8th, and his record against the regular rivals he faced shows a consistent advantage. He finished ahead of Ryan Justice in 13 of 19 shared races, ahead of John Faulkner in 15 of 19, and ahead of Ross Smith, a Silver-graded endurance driver, in 13 of 18 starts.[1]

Jenkins' three-season tenure produced isolated performances against considerably stronger drivers. He finished ahead of Michael McDowell, the 2004 Star Mazda Champion and a Gold-graded professional, twice; he beat Graham Rahal, a Gold-graded professional, once; and he defeated Jonathan Bomarito, a Platinum-graded established professional, twice. These results remain outliers within a career that did not produce outright wins and ended at the close of 2006. His main team across 14 of those starts was Team Bucknum Racing, which did not record race wins during his tenure. Jenkins has since retired from racing.[2]
