John Faulkner is a retired entry-level professional driver who raced in the Star Mazda Championship, a single-class national series mixing amateur and semi-professional competitors with graded professionals. He competed for Velocity Motorsports across six seasons from 2002 to 2007, accumulating 50 starts.[1]

Faulkner's indexed racing career consisted entirely of his time in Star Mazda, where he finished 23rd in the championship standings in 2007, his final season of competition. His record in the series placed him among regular competitors who typically finished ahead of entry-level professionals such as Jon Brownson and Dan Tomlin Jr. He finished ahead of Michael McDowell, the 2004 Star Mazda champion and an established professional who has since competed extensively in NASCAR's Cup and Xfinity series, once, and beat Graham Rahal, an established professional with a lengthy IndyCar career, on two occasions.[2]

Faulkner's prior racing history, documented outside this index, was primarily in Australian touring cars and superspeedway racing; he established his own team to compete in AUSCAR and Australian NASCAR series at Calder Park Thunderdome, made a surprise entry into the 1996 Bathurst 1000, and continued in the Australian Touring Car Championship and V8 Supercar series before his team wound down after 2004.
