His record across the series placed him regularly behind established professionals Dale Arnold Jarrett, who accumulated 329 NASCAR Xfinity starts, and Ronnie Silver, with 182 starts in the same series. He beat Jimmy Hensley on three occasions and finished ahead of 1983 and 1984 NASCAR Xfinity champion Sam Ard once.[2]
