Oliver Kainz was an entry-level professional racing in multiclass endurance championships across Germany. He spent nine seasons competing in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie and shorter campaigns in the 24H Series and Nürburgring 24 Hours, driving GT3 and modified production-based race cars for Wochenspiegel Team Monschau and Wochenspiegel Team Manthey Porsche.[1]
His record was built on sustained success in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, where he took 15 wins and 23 podiums across 56 starts between 2010 and 2017. He won the championship twice, in 2011 and 2013, both times driving for Manthey Racing. His later career included five starts in the 24H Series from 2017 to 2019, yielding one podium, and a single appearance in the Nürburgring 24 Hours in 2019.[2]
Kainz typically finished ahead of regular rival Andreas Ziegler, an entry-level professional, and ran closely matched against Klaus Abbelen, the 2014 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie SP 9 champion. He also finished ahead of Rene Rast, a three-time DTM champion and established professional, on two occasions, and beat Renger van der Zande, an established professional and 2016 IMSA WeatherTech prototype champion, once.
