Patrick McGovern is a semi-professional driver racing solo in SCCA Regionals and SCCA Majors, the two largest national multiclass championships in the United States, where he drives heavily modified FP-class sports cars and spec Mazda MX-5s across SM and SMSE classes. He competes in a field mixing amateurs and semi-professionals with established professionals and graded drivers. His most recent activity was the 2023 SCCA Runoffs.[1]
Across five seasons from 2022 to 2026, McGovern has taken two wins and fourteen podiums from thirty-one starts. In SCCA Regionals he has two wins and eleven podiums from sixteen starts. SCCA Majors has yielded three podiums from thirteen starts, and he has made two starts in the SCCA Runoffs.[2]
McGovern runs closely matched with Ford Munnerlyn, a competitive amateur who has raced SCCA Regionals and Majors extensively. Against stronger opposition he has finished ahead of Connor Zilisch, an established professional and FIA Gold driver who has raced in NASCAR and the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup, and Jake Walker, a professional with FIA Silver status who has raced in IMSA sportscar championships. He typically finishes behind Raiden Nicol, a semi-professional rival who won the 2025 Radical Cup NA PRO 1500 and races NASA and Radical Cup alongside SCCA competition.
