Patrick McKenna is a semi-professional driver whose racer rating of 3,433 places him in the competitive amateur band; this level encompasses drivers who race regularly against professionals but typically finish mid-pack in those fields. McKenna's career on record consists of a single season in the 2011 Star Mazda Championship, where he started seven races for Team GDT without recording a podium finish and averaged a grid position of P10.4, ending the year P11 in the final standings.[1]
Throughout his seven races that season, McKenna competed against a field that included Tristan Vautier, the eventual 2011 Star Mazda champion, alongside Gustavo Menezes and Connor De Phillippi, both of whom went on to become professional sportscar drivers graded at gold level by the FIA. Against this calibre of opposition, McKenna finished ahead of Menezes twice and Vautier once, though he was outpaced consistently by De Phillippi across all seven meetings. His results against the broader field show him finishing ahead of semi-professional and professional-level drivers on occasion, but more often running behind the stronger competitors in the series.
McKenna has been retired from racing since the conclusion of the 2011 season, and no further competitive record exists beyond that single campaign in a junior single-seater series.
