Pagotto was a professional racing in the FIA GT Championship, a single-class endurance series in which each car carried two or more drivers. He raced for Agusta Racing Team and GT Racing Team across three starts in 1997.[1]
His sole indexed season saw him finish 33rd in championship standings. He occasionally finished ahead of established professionals including David Velay and Philippe Gache, a former International Formula 3000 driver; more often, however, he ran behind Alessandro Nannini and Thierry Boutsen, both of whom had substantial careers in Formula 1 alongside their GT racing. The field mixed amateurs, semi-professionals and graded drivers in shared-car competition, and Pagotto occupied its lower reaches.[2]
