Serramalera competed across the 2007 and 2008 seasons in the Star Mazda Championship, starting four times. He finished 21st in the championship standings in 2008, his final season of racing on record.[2]
His field included established professionals and graded competitors. Serramalera typically finished behind fellow regulars Christopher Cumming, a Bronze-graded driver with 28 Star Mazda starts across a career spanning IMSA WeatherTech and the World Endurance Championship, and Alex Ardoin, a professional with 41 starts in the series. He finished ahead of Dane Cameron once; Cameron went on to win the 2007 Star Mazda Championship and later became an established professional racing in IMSA WeatherTech and European Le Mans Series at the highest level.
