Stan Kohls is an entry-level professional who raced single-seater open-wheel cars in national championship competition. He drove for World Speed Motorsports across two stints in the Star Mazda Championship and one season in Pro Mazda, competing between 2005 and 2014.[1]
His indexed record spans five seasons and twelve starts; most of his activity came in his first campaign in 2005, when he started ten times in Star Mazda before stepping back to two Pro Mazda starts in 2014. He finished 22nd in Star Mazda points in 2009, his final season. Across his career he raced against regular competitors at his own level and above, typically finishing behind established semi-professionals in the field.[2]
The Star Mazda Championship grid included established professionals and graded drivers alongside him; among them were Graham Rahal, who went on to race IndyCar, and Dane Cameron, who became a three-time IMSA WeatherTech champion and European Le Mans Pro/Am champion. Kohls finished ahead of both men once each, placing him among the faster entries in a competitive field.
