Roland Botor was a semi-professional racing in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, a multiclass endurance championship mixing amateurs and graded professionals on the same grid. He drove for LMS Engineering across five seasons between 2010 and 2014, racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and Cayman GT4 Clubsport machinery in the Cup classes and modified production cars in SP 3.[1]
Botor took the 2014 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie championship with two wins and eight podiums from nine rounds, delivering his strongest season in a five-year run that yielded three wins and fourteen podiums across thirty-three starts. His title came in a field that included the 2012 SP 3T champion Christian Krognes, whom Botor beat on four occasions; he also finished ahead of Michael Bleekemolen, a professional with FIA GT Championship experience.[2]
Among the regulars on the grid, Botor typically finished ahead of Dieter Schmidtmann, an FIA Bronze professional, and raced closely with Robert Lommel, a competitive amateur and one of the series' most frequent competitors with fifty-three starts of his own.
