Against the established professionals who formed the grid's upper tier, he consistently ran behind multiple-time champions; he finished behind Ash Sutton, a four-time BTCC champion, in the majority of their encounters, and similarly trailed Tom Ingram, the 2022 BTCC champion and FIA Gold graded, across most meetings. He did finish ahead of both drivers on three occasions against Sutton and twice against Ingram.[2]
