Tom Bale is a semi-professional driver who raced in a single season of competitive single-seater racing. His Racer Rating of 3,018 places him among semi-professional competitors, the level at which drivers win in pro-am and one-make classes and run mid-pack among full professionals. His record consists entirely of the 2014 GB3 season, where he completed 13 starts for Chris Dittmann Racing without securing a win or podium finish, averaging a 15th-place classification.[1]
Bale's sole season coincided with a notably competitive field that included George Russell, who would go on to become a generational talent at Formula 1 level; Russell finished ahead of Bale in all 12 races they shared. Other regular rivals included Arjun Maini and Raoul Hyman, both Gold-graded professionals, as well as Sennan Fielding, who later became 2022 British GT Championship GT4 champion. Against this elite company, Bale finished ahead of Fielding once and managed single victories over Will Palmer, the eventual 2015 GB3 champion. His best result relative to the strength of the field came when he beat Palmer, a professional-level driver, on two occasions during the campaign. Since 2014, Bale has not returned to racing and remains retired from competition.[2]
