W Series was an all-female single-seater sprint championship that ran in 2019, 2021 and 2022 before ceasing operations. The field held entry-level professional drivers, led by Jamie Chadwick, who won all three editions, and Alice Powell and Bruna Tomaselli among its accomplished competitors. Most drivers arrived from karting championships and lower-tier single-seaters; most moved on to F1 Academy, GT World Challenge Europe and endurance prototypes. The series fed upward into stronger grids, though some drivers came sideways from peer single-seater championships. Relative to F1 Academy, the series held comparable strength; it stood well above SKUSA SuperNationals but markedly below GP3, which supplies some drivers to it. The series no longer runs.
